1. What did you do this past week?

For the first part of this past week, I studied for the cryptography test exclusively. I think I did alright on the test, but could’ve done better. For the second half, I got caught up on my other classes and work. Our IDB group also met to discuss and distribute tasks for this project.

    2. What’s in your way?

Nothing. The project’s requirement of pagination and filtering would’ve been a problem, and I am glad it is no longer required for this part.

    3. What will you do next week?

I will try to get my part of the project done by Tuesday. The remainder of the week will be spent doing work.

    4. What’s my experience of the class?

      Great so far.

    5. What’s my pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

We’ve talked a lot about Docker and its use in class. We we didn’t talk about was docker-compose, which I think makes Docker’s usability 10 times better.
Using compose, you can have multiple container definitions that will all be able to communicate with each other. Compose also makes it easy for you to define Docker networks, Docker volumes, as well as run-time environmental variables.
To use docker-compose, create a new file in your project root directory and name it docker-compose.yml. In this file, you will define the different containers you need for your project in YAML format. As an example, here is out docker-compose file we are using for our IDB project to connect Traefik, React, Flask, and Postgresql together:
