What did you do this past week?
Austin city limits! I also did some work on my personal projects as well as the IDB project. I will be doing some more as time goes on and the requirements are more clear. The most interesting thing last week was the abundance of time right before all the tests rain down on us.
What’s in your way?
The Software Engineering midterm will be a big hurdle. The cryptography midterm is going to be worse. I might be Q dropping that course, but I am not quite sure yet. I guess we will see how it goes.
I did buy John Mulaney tickets during the summer and it happened to be right on the exam time 🙁
As for work, a lot of business requirements keep changing. And it seems like the product I am building is being morphed into a new form every day.
What will you do next week?
Study for all these exams and try to keep up with all the work for the classes.
What’s my experience of the class?
Great so far. I hope the test isn’t too difficult.
What’s my pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
There is currently a vulnerability in macOS High Sierra that exposes your password using Disk Utility (when using the new Apple File System). It seems to be only affecting Macs with SSDs. The fact that the system stores your password in plaintext somewhere is worrying. Avoid using the new Apple File System until there is a fix out for this vulnerability.
