What did you do this past week?
Besides attending class, we got our group together for the project and decided on an idea. The idea is a database website for a game I really enjoy playing called Rocket League. The game involves rocket powered cars playing soccer against other players online. Our website would aggregate a list of all the items that can be earned in the game and display them with all the little relationships that can happen in regards to color and car-decal combos.
What’s in your way?
There is nothing currently in my way.
What will you do next week?
Now that we have the team together, and the idea in place. We can start making some progress on the project. I will be doing most of the server/infrastructure work in terms of setting up a reverse proxy for the API and the frontend so we can have both behind a single host.
What’s my experience of the class?
So far, my experience with this class has been good. The project description is a bit vague this time around, but I guess it is intentional so that we can have the freedom of implementation.
What’s my pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
Last week I mentioned that after years of work, WordPress is switching from React due to Facebook’s ridiculous license. Well, this week, Facebook finally realized the big mistake they made with this license and decided to switch to an MIT license! You can read more about it here: https://code.facebook.com/posts/300798627056246/relicensing-react-jest-flow-and-immutable-js/
